Pippin relaxing with his little buddy

Updates may be intermittent over Winter Break, but fortunately we have a new catnip mouse to keep us busy while the lab reports grade themselves.

  1. Does this cat also have a flower name?

  2. He came from the Charlottesville SPCA named “Senor Wahoo.” The Wahoo is the unofficial mascot of the University of Virginia, but we thought that name was embarrassing. So he is named “Pippin” instead, since the Lord of the Rings trilogy was in wide release then.

  3. I hope you call him a “fool of a Took” when he misbehaves.

    • Unfortunately, if we did that every time he misbehaves, he might think that his name really was “Fool of a Took!”

We suspect that Violet thought her name was “You damned dog!” for the first year or so we had her.
